Tyler Jenkins Earns ASC Post-Season Honor

Junior Tyler Jenkins of Abilene, TX has been honored on the All-American Southwest Conference second team, it was announced by the league office. Jenkins, who was honored as a designated hitter, also played third base and pitched for the War Hawks.

Jenkins just completed his third season in the McM program. He has been a two-year starter and was one of just two team members to appear in every contest during the 2017 campaign.

Jenkins led McMurry in several offensive categories, including: batting average (.317), hits (44), at-bats (139), home runs (7) and runs batted in (27). He was also among the club's top defensive players with a .977 fielding average in 44 chances. He also had a team-best two saves from the mound.

Jenkins collected the War Hawks' top numbers in multiple hit games (12) and multi-RBI games (5). He also shared the longest hitting streak in 2017, with eight consecutive games. Jenkins also had a skein of 15-straight games reaching base safely during 2017.
