Skyler Reyna Receives American Southwest Conference Honor

McMurry University sophomore forward Skyler Reyna of San Antonio, TX received American Southwest Conference basketball honors.

McMurry University sophomore forward Skyler Reyna (San Antonio, Texas/Brackenridge H.S.) was selected as the American Southwest Conference West Division women's basketball "Player of the Week," after leading her team to a pair of victories - and a share of the ASC West lead - last week. Reyna averaged a double-double of 15.5 points and 11.0 rebounds per game in wins over Concordia University-Texas and the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.

Reyna also ran her string of double-double games to five with last week's efforts.

Reyna helped the War Hawks move into a first place tie in the division with UMHB, after shooting a blistering 80.0 percent from the field last week. Versus the Cru, Reyna was a perfect 8-for-8 from the floor in the 68-63 win, scoring 17 points and pulling down 12 boards. She had 14 points and 10 rebounds last Thursday versus CUTX.

She also averaged 2.0 assists and 2.0 steals per game last week.

On the year, Reyna has a total of seven double-double games, while leading the team in both scoring (14.7 p.p.g.) and rebounds (9.0 r.p.g.). Reyna has 10-consecutive games with double-figure point totals, as well as in 13 of 15 games, overall. She is shooting 50.3 percent from the field and 72.4 percent from the free throw stripe.
