Skyler Reyna Honored by ASC

2017 Mar 2

McMurry women's basketball player Skyler Reyna of San Antonio, TX, was one of four players to receive ASC women's basketball post-season accolades.

The quartet included junior Sham Hunter (Abilene, Texas) and senior Haley Welch (Plains, Texas), as well as freshmen Skyler Reyna (San Antonio, Texas) and London Weilert (Abilene, Texas).

Reyna, in just her first collegiate season, proved to be a gem among an impressive freshman class assembled by the McMurry staff of head coach Brittany Densman-Roes and her assistant, Veronica Davis. Reyna was tabbed on both the ASC West Division honorable mention list, as well as the ASC West All-Freshman Team. Reyna registered a total of five double-doubles this season, while averaging 11.9 points and 7.3 boards per game. She shot better than 39 percent from the floor and nearly 72 percent from the free throw stripe.
