Graeme Regan Performing in McMurry Theatre Play

2017 Feb 10

Graeme Regan of Abilene, TX is one of the actors in the McMurry theatre department production of A Park from Noon to Night, written by McMurry alumnus Charles Hughes '16. The performances run Feb. 23-25 and March 2-4, in the Ryan Little Theatre. Curtain time is 7:30 p.m.

The play is actually a series of three, related one-act plays that all take place in the same location, a park. The first play revolves around two elderly men on their regular noon time stroll discussing the difficulties of aging in a changing world. Carolyn Ainsworth is directing this play and David Ainsworth and Charlie Hukill are playing the two roles.

The second, directed by Charlie Hukill and featuring Lauren Bridwell and Trey Spivey, takes place at dusk, focusing on a young married couple, clearly in love, but facing struggles common to young marrieds, in particular conflicts between career opportunities and parental responsibilities.

The final play takes place late at night and involves three high school seniors on a night of celebration, and in anticipation of the great things in store for them after graduation. David Ainsworth is the director and the play's roles are filled by Graeme Regan, Agustin Rios and Kylie Fonville.

The plays are a celebration of humanity, both its ups and its downs. After the final performance of the play at McMurry, the Theatre Department will take it on the road to the Christian University Theatre Festival taking place at Wayland Baptist Church in Plainview. In addition to McMurry and Wayland, HSU, Howard Payne and Lubbock Christian will also be participating in the festival.
