McMurry University track and field standout Bethany Everett of Abilene, TX placed in the National Christian College Athletic Association Indoor Championships.

McMurry University's track and field program completed its indoor season by adding some additional "hardware" at the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) indoor championship meet at Cedarville University's Doden Fieldhouse. The War Hawks women's team finished fourth and the men sixth in the final team standings.

In Saturday's finale of the two-day event, McM crowned two more champions: Bethany Everett in the women's weight throw and Sean Germany in the men's triple jump. That gave the War Hawks a total of five gold medals for the NCCAA championships, including Aaron Webb (men's high jump), Shamaujae Crockett (women's high jump) and the women's 4x200 relay quartet.

Everett blew away the field in the weight throw, uncorking a winning effort of 16.08 meters (52'-09.25"). Everett's distance was nearly five feet better than the runner-up competitor. Teammate Carly Kantrowitz was ninth in the event.

Germany leapt to a distance of 14.12 meters (46'-04.00") to take top honors in the triple jump. Germany was the only jumper in the field to clear 14.00 meters and hit his winning effort on his second-to-last attempt.

The McM women's team also earned a pair of bronze medals on Saturday. In the 800 meters, freshman Josie Drury was third in a clocking of 2:25.52 minutes. The 4x400 relays quartet of Kaila Shelfer, Drury, Lyndi Wilkinson and Crockett ran a clocking of 4:06.86 minutes.

Other top women's results from Saturday included the long jump competition, where War Hawks Diamond Williams (5.22 meters) and Crockett (5.19 meters) placed fourth and fifth. Crockett was also 11th in the 200 meters.

In the women's shot put, McM went back-to-back in places five and six with Kantrowitz (11.79 meters) and Gwen Murchison (11.65 meters).

The McMurry men added a silver medal to its coffers when Tiyoshi Hopes finished second in the long jump. Hopes had a best mark of 6.94 meters (22'-09.25"). In the pole vault, McM freshman Kabren Wills cleared a season-best height of 4.48 meters (14'-08.25") to finish third.

Also bringing home a bronze medal was senior sprinter Michael Brown in the 400 meters. Brown hit the tape in a time of 50.29 seconds. Webb was eighth at 51.31 seconds.

In the men's shot put, Krystofer Campos placed fourth with a heave of 14.61 meters. Tyler Rohrman was eighth in the 800 meters (4:32.77 minutes) and hurdler Mason Townley was ninth in the 60-meter hurdles (9.14 seconds). McM's men's 4x400 relay team was sixth in its race.
