Bethany Everett Receives American Southwest Conference Honor

McMurry University sophomore forward Bethany Everett of Abilene, TX received American Southwest Conference basketball honors.

McMurry University junior Bethany Everett (Stratford, Texas) has been named as the American Southwest Conference women's Field Athlete of the Week, it was announced. Everett had quite a 2018 season debut versus all NCAA Division I or open competitors at the Texas Tech Red Raider Invitational last Friday.

On her very first attempt in the weight throw, Everett uncorked a personal-best heave of 15.76 meters (51 ft.-8.5 in.), finishing eighth in the stellar field of throwers. Her effort was also good enough to make her the current leader in NCAA Division III South/Southeast Region, the National Christian College Athletic Association and the ASC.

Everett and the War Hawks will compete this Saturday at the Pittsburg State Gorilla Invitational in Pittsburg, Kansas.
